Assistant Principal Dr. Heather Allison
South Jackson is my home away from home. I did my student teaching here and quickly fell in love with the students and families of this beautiful community. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of serving as a homeroom teacher, Early Intervention Teacher, 504 Coordinator, and MTSS Coordinator. I am honored to serve as your assistant principal.
My journey through various roles at South Jackson has allowed me to connect deeply with our students and their families, fostering relationships built on trust, respect, and a shared commitment to excellence in education.
I am passionate about public education and believe every student deserves the best school experience. My love of reading and belief in strong early literacy skills allowed me to focus my master's capstone thesis and specialist coursework on oral language and vocabulary acquisition. Additionally, my applied research dissertation centered around the five pillars of reading and teacher self-efficacy for literacy instruction. While I may be out of the classroom as a teacher, you will find me in classrooms on every hallway of South Jackson, learning and growing with our amazing teachers and students. I am a lifelong learner!
As we embark on another exciting school year, I look forward to continuing our work together to create a supportive, engaging, and nurturing environment for all our students. Thank you for being an integral part of the South Jackson community. Let's make this year an incredible learning adventure!
