Watch D O G S
Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) is a nationally recognized family and educational initiative created by the National Center for Fathering. The purpose of the program is to provide positive male role models for students, emphasize the importance of education, reduce bullying, and enhance school security.
During their volunteer shifts, Watch D.O.G.S. actively engage with not only their own children, but other students as well. They may be involved in any number of assigned activities like reading and working on flash cards with students, playing at recess, eating lunch with students, watching the school entrances and hallways, or assisting with traffic flow. Today more than 6,450 schools in the U.S. participate in the WATCH D.O.G.S. program.
Please contact Melissa Nixon at mnixon@jcss.us if you have any questions about the program.
