Dear SJES Families,
I am very excited and honored to be joining the South Jackson Elementary School as the assistant principal. After only a few weeks at SJES, it is evident that this school is a special place, filled with wonderful students, teachers, and staff members!
Prior to being named SJES assistant principal, I served as the instructional coach at Gum Springs Elementary School in Jackson County. My other experience in the field of education includes over 20 years as a classroom teacher in grades PreK through 5, including serving as a Reading Specialist. I have had the privilege of working in Jackson County since 2008. I have two daughters, Erin and Colleen, both graduates of UGA. Needless to say, we are big Georgia Bulldog fans! Although I grew up in Athens, I have moved around a great deal as an adult. During my career, I have taught in South Carolina, Rhode Island, Washington, Nebraska, Italy, and California. Of course, being an educator in Georgia is the BEST of all!
I look forward to supporting all of the wonderful stakeholders at South Jackson Elementary School as we work together to provide an educational atmosphere that is stimulating, challenging, and meets the individual needs of our students.
I am eager to meet all of the SJES families and welcome your input. Please feel free to stop by and see me at school, call me at (706) 543-8798, or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
